What do these things all have in common? Well they're DIRTY and that's what the Dirty Birdies Flock hop was supposed to be about, right?

Oh, wrong kind of dirty?

Okay, well it is also western week at Decadent Publishing so I should promo my western, but it is actually a little sweeter than most of my stuff. With a bunch of brothers' and a ghost looking over their shoulders, this couple didn't have much chance to get busy. Although when they do, it certainly brought mutual satisfaction. Speaking of satisfaction, for the sake of dirty, let's look at my newest release - Sweet Satisfaction. But remember to scroll down and leave a comment for a chance to win one of two $5 gift cards to the book store of your choice. If I get at least twenty comments, I'll expand the prizes.

He walked around to stand behind her once more. Her weight rested on her hips where he had stretched her over the upholstered chair back. Needing to touch more than he wanted to play, he ran his hands over her curvy ass, so white and plump. A groan welled in his throat. If he failed, he’d never have the opportunity to claim her. He bent and bit her lightly, scrapping his teeth over the pale rounded flesh. She moaned and her back arched toward him, flashing him a glimpse of her hot pink folds, glistening with renewed desire. “Tell me what hurts, Kate.”

“Huh?”

The muddled response triggered a grin. “You said you were sore. Where?” But he knew. He’d focused most of his attention on her tiny clit and tight pussy. He doubted she could handle much more in those areas.
The negative shake of her head provided her only answer.
Kneeling, he leaned forward and blew across her damp flesh. She jerked when he grazed her clit with the tip of his tongue. Her squeal confirmed his suspicions, but he had no intention of aggravating the tenderness further—at least not there. Shifting to a more comfortable position, he spread her ass cheeks and licked her tiny rosebud.

Kate jerked in response. “No. I don’t—”

“Yes. You’ll like it.” He edged closer, slicking his tongue over her, prodding, lightly invading her hole before nipping at her again. “How often have come in your sleep from thinking about this? Of being bent over, helpless and vulnerable, of a man taking you from behind, shoving his thick cock into your ass while you cry out and beg him to be gentle even though you want it rough? The idea of giving yourself to someone you can’t control thrills you as much or more than the sense of the forbidden. Doesn’t it?”

Fear squeezed Kate’s chest. He was right, in her nightmare fantasies, the pain nearly blinded her, but still she woke wet and trembling, coming down from orgasm. “Please, I can’t do this.”

“Give me your safe word and we’re done. Until then, we’ll test just how wild you really are, my little cat.”

Meet Tessa Berkley

Hi everyone, today we have Tessa Berkley with us to tell us about her Historical Western from The Wild Rose Press Castillo's Fiery Texas Rose. Good morning, Tessa.
Good Morning all, I'd like to first thank Becca Dale for having me today.
You are more than welcome, Tessa. Glad you could drop by. Please tell readers a litte about yourself.
My name is Tessa Berkley and I've just had the pleasure of releasing my fist book with The Wild Rose Press entitled Castillo's Fiery Texas Rose, a historical western romance.
            Why historical westerns you ask?
All my life, I've felt drawn to the American west. The power of the men and women who dared to tame a wild land, to take on nature, or their fellow man when most lived by their own creed governed by their own rules or lack of rules completely intrigues me. So, it should come as no great stretch that I studied history at our local University.
For those of you who have picked up a copy of Castillo's story, you've probably already noticed that Trace embodies several characteristics of famous actors. He is a U.S. Marshall aka Matt Dillion. He has a roguish smile similar to Henry Darrow of The High Chaparral. But most of all, he is a man of honor. I think he gets that from John Wayne.
Trace is a bit cynical. He's seen the world at its worst and had his heart broken.  He opens the story by running afoul  of our heroine, Mary Rose Thornton. A hot headed Irish lass who could  be played by Maureen O'Hare.  Trace tells Mary Rose's brother, "Women cause trouble on the trail." He just doesn't know what  he's in for.  I'll leave you with a bit of Trace Castillo and Mary Rose.

More

Trace spied a bench partially hidden beneath the boughs of a willow tree. “Over there.” He motioned with his hand and escorted her to the bench. “Sit.”
She sat down and looked back. “What is so important, Marshal, that you brought me out here, away from my guests?”
“Miss Thornton,” he began, “do you think it’s advisable to return to the freight office?”
The air filled with a stunned silence. “Excuse me?” she whispered. He detected a hint of laughter with her disbelief. When he didn’t speak, her eyebrow rose in mild contempt.
Trace’s mouth pulled to a straight line. “You have experienced the tragic loss of your
brother, whom you clearly adored, not to mention being injured. Surely, you don’t expect to walk into—”
Her hostile glare stopped him cold. “Go on.”
He recognized the trace of contempt in her voice. Her eyes were cold and stormy, and he knew he stood on dangerous ground. But she was being pigheaded, and he intended to prove his point. “A freight office is a place where men hang out, rough men. The type of men who would walk over you as soon as look at you.”
She rose to her feet and stood nose to nose with him. The faint scent of vanilla surrounded them as, eyes ablaze, she lashed her words like a whip. “Don’t you dare tell me it’s not my right to work,” she hissed. “My brother may be dead, but I own that freight company. It is my blood, my sweat, my life!”
“Your life,” he scoffed. “Your death, Miss Thornton, if you keep up with this foolhardy attempt.”
She flashed him a look of disdain. “You pompous windbag.” Her nostrils flared and color crept into her cheeks. “Don’t you preach to me! I intend to honor my brother’s memory by making Thornton’s the best freight company in Texas.”
Her fire set his blood aflame. Any other woman would have run in the opposite direction. In defiance, she stepped closer, glaring up at him, the color of her eyes deepening from blue to deep indigo. In their depths a sparkling of fire leaped and could not go unchallenged. Unable to control his movements, Trace reached out and grasped her by the waist, his broad hands nearly spanning her middle.
“Oh, yes.” His words tumbled over his lips, deep, throaty, and laced with desire. “You’ll make a name for yourself. Every unmarried man, every scoundrel, and every hot blood in southwest Texas will turn up on your doorstep. They will watch the tilt of your head, the sway of your skirts, and try to catch the shimmer of fire in that fine head of hair.”
Beneath his stare, her eyes widened. Not from fear, but with understanding of what his words meant. He searched her face but didn’t hold back. “They won’t stop there,” he continued, pulling her toward him. “Not until they have a taste of heaven.” He felt the warmth of her hand upon his chest setting the skin below it aflame as she tried to push him back. Ignoring the pressure, he leaned closer. Her mouth opened to signal a protest, and before she had time to stiffen her arm and push him away, his lips descended upon hers.

Sweet Satisfaction with a Giveaway

Blurb:
Terrified of her submissive nature, Kate Hastings refuses to give a man control of her life. Somehow faking a wild and confident personality scares her less than facing reality -- the heated longing for her sexy best friend and her deep-seated need for domination. Trouble is, none of the passive men she's dated do it for her.

Victim to a family curse, Connor Wallace can love only one woman his entire life -- Kate. Yet, she insists on keeping him firmly in the friend zone. Determined to prove he's more than friend material, he sets out to fulfill her greatest fantasies, even if it means tying her up to get her attention.

When passion and protective instincts collide, something has to give, but will the impact lead to broken hearts or sweet satisfaction?

Excerpt: Language warning NC17.

Connor leaned down and pressed his lips to her ear. “Think of how much fun you could have with a guy like Kurt.”
He surely didn’t mean sexually. Connor had never even made an off color joke around her. His good-guy mind didn’t run along those lines, but hers unfortunately did. The image of her and Kurt trying to do it caught her off guard and a laugh burst out before she could stop it. They wouldn’t even be able to kiss while he was inside her and mutual oral would definitely be out unless one or both of them were double jointed, and she sure as hell wasn’t.
Connor hugged her closer. “What’s funny?”
“Nothing.” How had she missed the way his body fit to hers? His groin nestled against her lower belly, and if she rose to her toes…Shit, knock it off! But the image of lying with him while she sucked his cock, and his gorgeous mouth did delicious things to her clit would not fade. Fucking him would be easy, like he was custom built to pleasure her. A shiver raced up her spine, and she snuggled closer.
“Cold, Katelyn?’
She shook her head but did not back away from the warm comfort of his chest. His strong arms cradled her, protective and solid, making her feel safe but needy. The last thought spiraled through her, triggering unease. The man was dangerous. Controlled and persuasive with a sense of humor, good qualities for a lawyer, a killer-bad combination in every other way. He stopped moving, simply holding her until she lifted her head. “What?”
His eyes teased. “I thought you’d fallen asleep. The music ended.”
She hated when guys laughed at her. It pissed her off. But Connor never seemed to make fun, only enjoy life in general. Still, she pushed from his embrace and walked off the dance floor.
Catching her arm, he pulled her to the side. “Want a drink?”
No! The man had too much animal magnetism most days, always restrained but never far from the surface despite his easy smile. Drinking, eating, or any other ing with her favorite hottie other than hiking or talking was off limits, and even those had potential hazards. He’d get ideas she wasn’t strong enough to handle.

Calisa Rhose - author to author advice

Pen of the Dreamer
Hi Becca! Thanks for hosting me today.

Glad to have you here, Calisa. Readers, be sure to leave a comment below for a chance at goodies from today's guest.

You know, coming up with blog post ideas, much less full posts are coming harder for me the longer I tour.

I can relate to that one, but without it readers won't find your latest.

True but still I hear it all the time. I’ve done it.

What's that?

I’m talking about over doing a blog tour for a new book.

Promotion.
When is it too much?
The Torture Art of Self Promotion
by Calisa Rhose

A first book is mind-boggling in and of itself. So many questions, even more answers. Beware--when you ask a question--be prepared to be literally flooded with responses! It’s wonderful, exhilarating, and daunting, how many have already been where you are, and are very willing to help a newbie. I was in tears with appreciation at times. I wouldn’t have made it through those two months without all my new friends!

But you have to be careful how much of that advice, or which part of it, you choose to take advantage of. Remember--no matter how valuable or inspiring all the advice is--not all is for you or your book, as much as you tweak and try to make it fit. It’s like Cinderella’s stepsisters. The shoe was intended and designed for one person. Both sisters wanted to wear that treasured glass slipper, but it wasn’t a good fit for them and look what happened.

Advice is like that. Take what does fit and run with it! Just be prepared to share it with a newbie in your future who can wear it too. It’s not ours to keep and hog, but to share and spread around. Someone, someday, will find it fits them too.

When Home released I jumped in so far over my head I actually had to cancel blog dates. That’s not good. It was great that the hosts I had to cancel on were so very understanding, though. They all said no problem and wished me luck…which, I might add, I needed desperately.

Who needs self-inflicted brain damage?

Yet we all throw ourselves into the fray head first, not thinking how that endeavor could end. How are we supposed to know? We already, many of us, spend from dawn to dusk, or well beyond, on the computer. What’s a few more sites to visit? A few more minutes a day will put us and the book we are so proud of out there for others to see, hopefully, to buy.

Oy-- that frame of mind nearly did me in two years ago. A few more minutes??

I got my release date the first week of October and by the end of three days later I had over 20 blog guest spots offered. By the next week I had close to thirty and began scheduling them around December 28th--release day.

More
I knew I didn’t want to begin too far before release day. I’d been advised people would get used to seeing my book out there so far ahead of the release date that by the time my book actually became available everyone would have already forgotten about it. That scared me into waiting until two weeks prior to the date Wild Rose Press put it out for all to buy. I think I scheduled about eight dates in that pre-sale period. Not so bad.

Starting on the actual release date, though, I booked every single day for a week straight, two days I scheduled myself at two blogs at once. That week from hell taught me a huge lesson. Never book two in one day and rarely, or never, one a day for more than two or three days in a row! By the end of that week, I hadn’t even reached the half way mark of my tour, I was ready to be finished. I couldn’t because I had already committed to another month! Yeah, every other day and twice on a few.  Not only that, I found myself on more than one occasion, writing a post for the next day because I’d fallen so far behind I couldn’t keep up with all the dates I’d booked. In addition -I was editing for a different publisher then, and so, had work, family and all other kinds of things I had to do around blog posts that didn’t have to do with writing.

It was brutal.

What I learned.

Risk Factors released from Lyrical Press on March 4th. I laid out my plans, collected my guest spots, two months before and began writing posts and responding to interviews a month before the date of release. I’m still behind, but now, at least I have three or four days to a week to catch up between posts. I’m mostly two or more posts ahead at all times even. I strategically scheduled my guest spots every other day and some with two or three days between, none on weekends, so I can catch up with my other blogging, editing and writing obligations--and still keep everything on track. And that doesn’t count all the other forms of promotion, all those pesky hoops we have to jump through, just to get our book out there, so we can hope to make a few sales.

I haven’t got it ironed perfectly wrinkle-free this time either, but I’m a lot less stressed and have time to breathe. I’m getting closer to getting this self-promotion stuff down, I think. But I doubt any writer will ever be able to really market a perfect plan. There’s just no such thing.

Marketing plan.

What I can share in this is simple. Don’t over-do.

*Schedule only as many blog dates as you can manage without going bald.
*Don’t be afraid to cancel some if you find yourself over-extended.
*Don’t forget your blog dates! (Yes, I’ve done that…Monday, this week, in fact…)
*You spend a ridiculous amount of time begging people to visit you on those blogs, pleading for company, so you aren’t commenting only to find you’re the only one replying to yourself…take a few minutes every couple of hours (if not more often) to reply to those who have heard your blood-soaked pleas for company. I can’t stress how important this is! Why will they follow you to your next blog post if you don’t even acknowledge them at the first one? And each blog on your tour is a first for some reader.
*Take a few minutes to return the favor to those faithful followers. Go say hi to them on a guest blog or to their guests on their personal blog.
*Let everyone know you are on tour. Don’t use Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, G+, or any of those other social media venues? Start…right now. Get your face and your book out there. No one sells out of a closet only they have the key to! Open that door wide and begin yodeling. Loud. Louder, Heidi!
*Do you have a website? Blog? I know there are some who don’t think they need one, but in all honesty--that’s how I began getting my name and writer self out in the cyber world. It’s my comfort zone, where I share without feeling like I’m being pushy and crude. It’s the one place that can be all about me and no one thinks it’s wrong.

I began blogging at least five years before I sold my first book. By the time I did sell, I had a good following and support base to help me with this promotion gig. I was in a ‘club’ with other struggling writers who understood, who cheered me on when I sold. I gained this support system through my blog mostly. But that’s another blog post.

*I know a lot of writers who swear by swag. I don’t have any yet, but it’s a financial thing for me. I will have some soon. Bookmarks, cover cards, QR codes, pens, etc. They are great contest and gift items and each one helps you and your book be seen in a wide arena other than family and friends or internet.

I got a swag pack from a publisher contest editor, sent all the way from Canada. I won another contest and got the most beautiful cup with LaVerne Clark’s book cover on it and full of scrumptious chocolates…sent from Australia. I won another cup from Sarah Grimm for her After Midnight contest, with a music note thing I made into a key ring.
Guess what? I join contests because I won such fun ones in the past. I hope my contest will be as fun for all of you who comment today.

Bottom line? It’s like the old saying: You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. Believe me, I’ve tried. You can’t. Not that I think readers are horses! Just that you can put your book out there all day long, but in the end the thirsty are the only ones who will buy your book, and only when they have been stimulated to do so.

To help you want to win my contest I’m also awarding one host with the same packages I’m offering each commenter. A signature Rose Rock or Gift Card and an eBook of Risk Factors along with some fun swag. Thank you all for taking a moment from your uber busy day to stop in and say hi. And seriously, that all it takes for you to be entered and help a host win too.

I’ve enjoyed visiting you Becca. Thanks for letting me take over to ramble. J

You're welcome, Calisa. It has been interesting and I hope helpful to other authors struggling with this very thing. And readers - remember, writers want to hear from you. The want to know what you think of their work (especially if you love it) and they what to know what you would like to see in the future from them. At least I do. So don't forget to say hi to Calisa.

RISK FACTORS- available March 4, 2013

Love, like life, is not without risk.
BLURB- Veterinarian Vivian Dane has purchased her uncle’s practice in the tiny town of Wales, Missouri, where most residents still doubt her ability to treat their pets. But Viv is used to being considered less-worthy than her predecessors. After all, her parents are world-renowned wildlife vets, and most everyone is unimpressed she’s chosen to not follow directly in their footsteps.

Now Connor, a patient’s owner, is hot for Viv, but clearly doesn’t think she’s dating material because he has a daughter…who he believes no woman is good enough for.

Being a perfect dad is EMT paramedic Connor’s life focus. He can’t seem to stay away from sexy Doctor Viv, but attraction is as far as he’ll ever let it go. His mother abandoned him, leaving him to be raised in the foster system, and then his wife abandoned both him and their daughter. He absolutely will not risk bringing another woman into his little girl’s life and having her feel the hurt of being left…again.

Forfeiting is easier than attempting and failing. So why does Viv feel compelled to prove she’s a sure bet for Connor and his daughter? Can Connor trust Viv--and himself--enough to play the possibilities?

EXCERPT:
It was close to five o’clock and Viv wanted to go home. Winter hadn’t reached the Midwest yet, but from September through October the temperatures often dipped and dove sporadically, before diving for the long winter ahead. There’d been a slight chill in the air that morning and she hoped for a few more weeks of warmth before harsh weather moved in.

She looked forward to a hot soak in the bathtub, but Skittles was due for pick-up first. Connor had assured her he’d pick her up, or have his father get her before five. She glanced at her watch again. Four-fifty-six.
She didn’t mind staying late if she needed to; it would be a shame to leave the nervous animal alone another night.

She opened the small closet to put the dust mop away.

“Hello.”

With a start, she spun and her hand caught the broom handle on her way around. Gasping, she grabbed uselessly, horrified as the cleaning tool flew sideways from the closet. In slow motion she saw it shoot out against Connor’s shoulder and fall with a sharp snap onto the tile floor.

“Oh! I’m so--so sorry! Are you hurt?” Instant heat rushed up her neck and she bent to reclaim the errant broom to shove into the closet. She slammed the door and leaned against it on a sharp breath.

“I’m fine. You worried your killer broom might attack again? You might consider putting a lock on the door,” he said with a crooked smile.

Please Welcome Dawn Luedecke

Today Dawn Luedecke joins us on Meet the Author Monday. Before we get into the interview, here's a bit about our visiting author.

A country girl born and bred, Dawn Luedecke has spent most of her life surrounded by horses, country folk, and the wild terrain of Nevada, Idaho and Montana. As a child she would spend many afternoons reading books, watching western classics, and Rogers and Hammerstein movies. When she grew up she decided to leave the quiet country life for a chance to find adventure by serving a successful tour in the United States Coast Guard. During that time she found her soul mate (and alpha male) and started a family and writing career. She enjoys writing historical and paranormal romance and spends as much time as she can working on her current manuscript.

Readers please leave a comment for a chance to win an eBook.

Hi, Dawn. Welcome to Meet the Author Monday. Im happy to have a fellow country girl in the house. I cant wait to get to know a bit more about you.

Thank you, Becca! Im very happy to be here.

I heard you were in the Coast Guard. That had to be a life changing time. What can you tell us about it?

The time I was on active duty was the best in my life. I crave adventure and action, and the Coast Guard gave it to me. I was able to do things like stand guard for a president and presidential candidate, work with elite military forces, repatriate illegal aliens, and was involved in a very large drug bust.

My time taught me very important lessons and gave me life experiences I will never forget. I’m lucky to still be attached to the Coast Guard and love to live vicariously through my husband. J

Wow! How cool and exciting. I assume the Coast Guard kept you in the States but if you could make your home anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Montana. Although I'm originally from there, I can't wait to move back home after retirement.

What would you say is the best thing about a (your) man.

My husband is a true alpha male. He is a drill instructor for coast guard boot camp, when he isn't being a DI, he is a law enforcement agent and does search and rescue at sea.

Do you prefer Alpha or Beta heroes and why?

Alpha! Having the husband I do, and with all of his friends, I am surrounded by alpha males. They are the best kind of hero!

Why do you write?

I write because I love the job! I am a true book nerd and proud!

What is best thing a reviewer/reader has ever said about your work?

I received the CTRR (Coffee Time Reviewer's Recommend Award) from a reviewer at Coffee Time Romance.  Here is part of the initial five-cup review:

To Tame a Montana Heart is an engaging read. This reader was immediately drawn in from the beginning. The strong character of Travis, and the sassiness of Dusty, blends in with some interesting dialogue that spins a splendid good read. Dawn Luedecke adds just the right amount of zest within her main characters, and secondary characters to create a convincing story of love and romance, along with action, thrills and downright good charm. She incorporates a western romance that is hard to put down, with a cast of colorful players that one will not soon forget.

Very Nice. Readers should know that your characters are often
The heroines in my Montana Girl series are my sisters. I found that each of my siblings holds a unique characteristic that makes them the perfect heroine, my family is quirky and make for a great read.

Ha ha, I agree that family can be an endless source of inspiration. How would you define yourself as a person/writer?

I love to live by my personal motto "Always Have Passion". I try to incorporate this in everyday life, and my work.

Give us a quirky thing or two to know about you.

When I want to relax, I watch crime shows.
I secretly want to be a scientist.

A scientist? That's certainly different from being an author. Okay, now to see how good you are with short answer a tough order for most writers. So quick fireComplete the following sentences.

a.                   My favorite treat istootsie rolls.
b.                  The most interesting person I know is...my husband.
c.                   Given the opportunity, I would spend 10 daysin the Caribbean!
d.                  The glass ishalf full.
e.                   The most amazing giftis a good book.
f.                   Life is too short to settle foranything less than what you believe is perfect.

Blurb: To Tame a Montana Heart

Running from a past of privilege, deceit, and danger, Travis Simms is ready to settle down. What better place to forget all he left behind than the quiet little Montana town of Lolo Hot Springs? His goal is clear — build a hotel and his own destiny without complications —until one of the town’s most troublesome women captures his attention.

Dusty Larson is hell bent on independence, helping her sister run the Triple D Ranch. She can do anything a man can, and do it better, so she certainly doesn’t need one in her life. The only problem is she seems to attract bad luck and danger...and Travis. Can he tame her wild ways and keep his bachelor status intact — or does he risk losing his heart?

Excerpt:
She watched him with care. “I don’t know if I love you. I like you, a lot, but I don’t have the slightest idea what love feels like.”
Travis’ smile grew slowly across his face. “I understand. I’m not sure if I love you or not, but I also don’t think I could live without you. So you will always have that.” His voice was almost a whisper when he said the last.
“Truly?” Her voice cracked and she had to force herself to breathe easy.
“Truly.”
She inclined her head and took two brisk steps toward him. She leaned over and kissed him with all the fever of a thousand fires. He reached up and intertwined his hand through her hair to hold her still as he plundered her mouth.
She released him with a shaky breath and jumped back to turn on her heels. “Put something nice on. I’ll be back with a preacher man.”
“You know, I heard you only have to say ‘I marry you’ three times and then you’re hitched.”
She threw him a sassy look and slammed the door shut.

Meet Andrea Downing

Andrea Downing
Hi Andrea, welcome.

Hi Becca, thanks so much for having me here today.

If I could write with an English accent that's what you'd be hearing.  Although I was born here in NYC, I moved to the UK and have spent most of my life on the other side of 'The Pond.'  They did their best over there to hammer out the Yank in me, teaching me to eat sausage sandwiches with Branston pickle, drink Earl Grey tea and gargle with TCP (a liquid antiseptic) when I have a cold.  I spent years bringing up my baby and writing, editing a poetry magazine and teaching.  Then, horror of horrors, the baby grew into a lovely young lady with ideas of her own, one of which was to come to the USA for university.  She was hooked.  She decided to stay on after college, and I was forced to follow.  Yep, they dragged me back to the good ol' USA and are now trying to iron out the kinks, getting me to say 'parking lot' instead of 'carpark,' spell words like 'realiZed' with the Z instead of an S and eat—OMG—hot dogs.

So how did this transplanted English Rose come to write a western historical novel?  That, as they say, is a turn-up for the books!  Well, all that time we were living in Britain we had long holidays—vacations to you Yanks—with thanks to the English school system which gives the children a month at Christmas and Easter and two months in the summer.  Avoiding the unpredictable English weather, we chose to holiday out west on ranches where the weather was equally unpredictable but somewhat warmer in the summer—with the bonus that the riding was good.  Did I say "good?"  No, it was great.  To date, the baby and I have been to some seventeen ranches throughout the western states, always searching for some new scenery and some new experience.  I don't know how many miles we've clocked up on our road trips but we've certainly covered a good few.  Soooo, all that western experience had to lead to something.  What better than to write a book that encompasses both the West that I love and the English Rose?

When I learned that British aristocrats owned most of the large cattle companies in the late 1800s, the stage was set for LOVELAND.   The Americans at the time, you see, could not borrow money so readily as the British in order to start these companies. The English and the Scots, therefore, moved in, foreseeing the fortunes that could be made.  Smart bunch!  Only thing they didn't count on was—that unpredictable weather I just mentioned.

Well, if I continue, the Loveland story will be spoiled and I'd obviously prefer it if you went out and read the book.  So let me end here with my sincere thanks once again, Becca, for having me here today.   As we say out west, "Much appreciated!"

I am very pleased to have you here, Andrea. I'm a country girl to the core so Loveland sounds great.

BLURB:

When Lady Alexandra Calthorpe returns to the Loveland, Colorado, ranch owned by her father, the Duke, she has little idea of how the experience will alter her future. Headstrong and willful, Alex tries to overcome a disastrous marriage in England and be free of the strictures of Victorian society --and become independent of men. That is, until Jesse Makepeace saunters back into her life...
Hot-tempered and hot-blooded cowpuncher Jesse Makepeace can’t seem to accept that the child he once knew is now the ravishing yet determined woman before him. Fighting rustlers proves a whole lot easier than fighting Alex when he’s got to keep more than his temper under control.
Arguments abound as Alex pursues her career as an artist and Jesse faces the prejudice of the English social order. The question is, will Loveland live up to its name?

EXCERPT:

She sat on a stool and pulled off first one boot, then the other and kicked them aside, then she stood and put her leg on the stool to roll down her stockings one by one.
He marveled at her wantonness, her lack of propriety. “Alex, stop,” he said, laying his hand on hers. “Stop. You know...”
But he was lost; she took his face in her hands and pulled him to her, kissing him so any resistance he had had was now shattered. His heart beat faster at the sweetness of her mouth, the softness of her tongue, the lack of air as they sought each other. His hands moved over her feeling the outline of her body, knowing its curves, its gentleness, its yielding. “Are you sure?” he asked at last.
“I want you so much, Jesse, I want you so much, I’m not waiting three years. And if...if anything happens, so what? We’ll get married, that’ll be it.”
“Yes, but Alex, you can’t... I mean, it’d be a shotgun wedding, it’s not how—”
“Shh.” She put her finger to his mouth and then turned for him to unhook her gown. He ran his hands gently down her exposed back, feeling each scar, then kissed her neck.
“You have nothing on under...”
“It’s how the gown is made. Monsieur Worth builds the undergarments into the gown.” Her voice was at barely a whisper, a tremor showing her nerves. She turned and still held the gown up to her, then, looking at Jesse, let it drop to the floor.

Coming Soon!

Savannah Jensen’s well-planned life offers everything a woman could want except a driving passion to override self-imposed rules. At twenty-nine, the clock isn’t screaming, but it has begun to tick loudly, so when a friend convinces her to attend a bridal blow-out sale, she’s not exactly excited about the reminder that she is alone, especially when a gorgeous man sweeps her into a sensual dance that threatens everything she has ever believed in.

Gavin Ferguson doesn’t believe love exists, but when he picks up the tuxedos for his sister’s wedding, fate, lust, and the family curse throw him a curve. Suddenly, he longs to convince the beautiful woman in ivory that she should be his—at least until he can sate the sexual fire she ignites. Yet, distrust born of disappointment and betrayal insists he protect his heart from the lie of perpetual happiness shining in her eyes.

Once Savannah and Gavin dance, raw desire, too hot to ignore, sweeps them toward insanity with nothing to cling to except sweet restraint.
